Luxe Home Decor – Here’s A Look At What’s New On The High Street In 2021

Who else is excited to be coming out of the dreary and dark British winter? I have both my hands up!

Next in this Spring/Summer 2021 series I am showcasing the gorgeous and glamorous Luxe Home Style. I have created six mood boards that showcase homeware items from across a range of High Street stores as well as across various price points. Whether your budget is low, medium or higher…..there will be something in this article for everyone.

Hopefully, this post will give you an idea of the beautiful new products that are in stores and how you can pull together a Luxe Home style.

If you want to add a more luxurious and opulent feel to your home, then the following interior mood boards will help you decide between the many different glam styles and colour combinations that can be created using some key features of the Luxe Home style. No matter if it’s a full makeover or a just revamp your needing, have a look through this varied list of amazing pieces for your home.

What many people don’t realise is that with this style you can go subtle or you can go bold. Sometimes, this style can get a reputation for being too glitzy, but it really doesn’t have to be taken to that level if that is not your taste.

By starting with some core details such as precious metals, velvet fabrics and mirrored/glass surfaces – you can add layers to your look so that you achieve the perfect finish.

This was definitely one of my most favourite blog posts to write and select images for. Let’s have a look at the various ways that you can incorporate the Luxe Home style into your abode.

Green and Gold Luxe Home

Green or jewelled tones matched with gold is bold and luxurious. This Luxe Home mood board mixes together strong geometric shapes alongside luxurious padded home accessories. It definitely screams glam! Start by carefully choosing the bolder shapes first, I personally would either decide on sharp angular shapes or softer curves for the main furniture pieces in your room.

If you decide on sharper angular shaped items for your larger pieces, you can always soften the look by adding curved/round shapes into your small accessories. This style allows you to layer, and layer some more until you get it perfect.

I love these white drawers for your bedroom from B&M Stores, adding white furniture will help to break up the gold and green colours and add a fresh, modern twist to the finished look. These units come in a few different colours and are such a great find at a great price.

Key Features Of Green Luxe Home Style

  • Jade-Dark Green – deep tones work great
  • Gold Metal
  • Mirrored Furniture & Accessories
  • Geometric Shapes
  • Contrast between hard and soft finishes
  • Each item is decorative and detailed

Here, are some home decor pieces that would look great in any Luxe Home look you are creating. If you haven’t seen my previous blog post on the Interior Trends For 2021, you should check it out. Shelfie’s are popular for this year and Next has many different styles to suit your home.

Gold and textured photo frames are also perfect to add your personal touches into the Luxe Home look. A great tip is to buy them in sets like above and either place them together if your have a large enough space or place them separately around the room, since they are the same finish and style this will visually flow in your space.

Navy And Gold Luxe Home

A dark colour palette mixes well with Luxe Glam style. The above mood board pulls together the latest navy blue Luxe items on the High Street for 2021, and I love every piece……but then my favourite colour is navy so it’s hard to resist!

Velvets in your Luxe Home look are a must-have, it helps to balance what could be, a cold look from the hard surfaces and metal finishes.

Again, with this style you will want to determine how far you want to go with the look. You may love all the details and gorgeous accessories and want to incorporate a bit of everything or you may wish to keep things subtle by deciding on a few larger, key pieces and adding smaller details of metal and glam throughout your space.

Drink trollies are also a perfect finishing touch that would look great is this style of room. They have became extremely popular since lockdown has made us have to get creative with our home by making them our work and play spaces.

Key Features Of Navy Luxe Home Style

  • Navy Blue – rich, deep tones work great
  • Gold Metal
  • Mirrored Furniture & Accessories
  • Softer Shapes
  • Contrast between hard and soft finishes
  • Plush velvet fabric

These lovely navy chairs from Next show both silver and gold leg finishes. Metals are one of the key details of the Luxe Home style, so choosing your favourite metal finish will give you a good starting point, along with the main colour of your room.

Adding button detail to your furniture (chairs, footstools etc) will give your room another layer of luxury. Deep button detailing creates a feeling of softness and comfort. If you look at the two styles of chairs above, both are gorgeous (in my option) but the button back chair looks more inviting to spend longer periods of time in.

Dark Luxe Home Style

Adding black to your Luxe Home look is another twist on this style, and a great idea if you want to add another layer to your room. The above Interior mood board incorporates grey and black into the style, which helps to break up the colour palette of the previous mood boards.

I have also picked out a recurring design detail that you can use to tie pieces of furniture together in your room. Linear lines, circulur shapes, hexagons…..whatever is your preference, can be used as a theme throughout your space and create a flow to your finished look.

When choosing your colour palette, you can start with a colour preference or else start by choosing a few items that you love and use them as your base to build your room design on.

All these items in the mood boards are new on the High Street for 2021, so there are many places to look to make sure you can find the perfect pieces you need to create the best finished look to your space.

If you’ve read any of my Show Home walkthrough posts, you may have noticed that adding small black details within a home is a great way to add another colour to your palette. It doesn’t have to be overpowering, as you can see above, the black sideboard cabinet has mirrored panels attached to the front, perfect for fitting in with the Luxe Home style.

Key Features Of Dark Luxe Home Style

  • Greys, Navy and Black – darker tones work great together, in the correct proportions
  • Gold Metal
  • Mirrored Furniture & Accessories
  • Curves
  • Contrast between hard and soft finishes
  • Plush velvet fabric

Coloured Luxe Home

Adding colour to your Luxe Home style is another take on this style. With this look, pick a few large and bold pieces to get started. Choosing brighter colours to add to the mix will lighten this style and will allow you to keep the look lighter and fresher.

With large colour blocks and metal pieces, the rest of your room only needs to have a few smaller accessories placed around the room to balance the overall look. But, if you want more remember that you can always layer until you get the final look you want.

Key Features Of Coloured Luxe Home

  • Bright colour blocks
  • Mixed metals
  • Curves
  • Lighter finishes in the room
  • Coloured velvet fabric

If you are wanting your space to have more colour and a lighter feel, check out these items above. The teal blue sofa will instantly add a mid-tone and fresh colour to your palette whilst still keeping a few of the other Luxe Home details like the linear/flute element, velvet and metal leg finishes.

This side table is also a great piece to add, with its marble style top along with the metal spindle detail. By not having a solid structure, it keeps this side table light and delicate looking.

So far, I’ve shown a few different styles for the Luxe Home look, and I hope you are seeing all the twists this style can incorporate depending on your personal preference.

Patterned Luxe Home

This mood board has similar furniture to a previous board, but this time I have added some pattern to show another way this Luxe Home look could be styled.

Keeping details such as the velvet, metal finishes, glass and mirrored furniture, why not add some pattern to your space and see how that can make the room feel completely different.

It gives this Luxe Home style a much more homely feel to it. There is still the glamour and opulence, but now the typical design details of this style is muted to allow the pattern to be the feature. The mirror and the metal tones now blend well, rather than be the main details that your eyes focus on first.

I would first pick your metal of choice for this style, then find a pattern and colour that works best. The rug works great as it is pulling out the colours of the wallpaper, as well as picking up the colour of the gold coffee table legs.

Key Features Of Patterned Luxe Home

  • Bold pattern – on wallpaper/rug/soft furnishings
  • Metal finishes
  • Linear design
  • Mirrored Furniture
  • Velvet fabric

Traditional Luxe Home Style

For the last mood board showing the latest home furnishings to hit the High Street in Spring/Summer 2021, I want to show a more traditional style of Luxe glam.

A lot of people, when thinking of what a Luxe style looks like, will typically envision blush pinks, fur throws and cushions, along with soft muted tones of greys and white.

By keeping your colour palette light with muted tones, the metal finish that you decide on will really be the main feature of the style. This is where you will need to ensure you balance the hard finishes with the perfect soft furnishings. Add faux fur throws, textured cushions and plush velvets to soften the overall style and create a space that’s welcoming as well as glamorous.

Also, note the soft curves of this Luxe Home look. This colour palette has more of a feminine feel to it, and the curved detail of the pieces only emphasis that further.

Key Features Of Traditional Luxe Home

  • Blush pink tones – also other muted tones
  • Gold metal
  • Soft curves
  • Delicate structure of pieces
  • Velvet fabric
  • Faux fur – more textures

The jewelled table lamp above and the set of side tables from Next are a few more items that could work well if you want to recreate the Luxe Home style. The lamp would look great if you decide to choose silver for your metal finish. And the side tables have a gorgeous marble finish on top along with a geometric structure, all these pieces are also new to the High Street for 2021.
