Boucle: 21 Best Ways To Use This 2024 Interior Trend In Your Home

Boucle (pronounced ‘boo-clay’) has been creeping back into the interior world over the last few years and now more than ever it is moving from interior boutiques onto the high street….and into our homes.
Previously considered a high-end luxury fabric, and better known for its use in designer clothing, the high street has made this trend available at all price points.
The boucle fabric makes a big statement on its own so if this is your first introduction to adding boucle furniture or accessories into your home then it may be a case of ‘less is more’ unless you are a ‘go big or go home’ kinda person- then go ahead and mix some of these items together in the one room!

Below is a list of where you can use boucle pieces within your home, either as stand-alone items or grouped together to create more of a visual impact.
The boucle fabric is soft and luxurious, and whilst white and cream are the most popular colours, lots of other colours including darker shades are being introduced as its popularity increases.
1. Boucle Sofa
Boucle fabric looks great on curved sofas and is such a statement piece for your home. There are lots of options in 2024 for sofa shapes and styles to suit all homes, and as I mentioned before, lots of new colourways to choose from.
2. Boucle Armchair
If you like to mix and match the furniture in your home, why not add a boucle armchair to your space. This could be alongside a boucle sofa or mixed with other luxurious fabrics like velvet.
There are many options for armchair shapes in boucle fabric right now on the high street from curved to modern to suit your style.
3. Boucle Accent Chair
A boucle accent chair would be a great option to add to any room in your home.
Accent chairs look great because they don’t need to necessarily match your existing furniture or even the existing colour scheme.
However, I would recommend that you tie something of the accent chair into the space, this could be for example the black legs above could work great with black picture frames etc.
4. Boucle Footstool
Now, I don’t know about you but I can’t live without a footstool.
I think they are great for multipurpose use –
- feet up whilst watching a movie
- displaying a decorative tray with your favourite candles and accessories
- extra seating when guests visit
- coffee table
You can add a boucle footstool to your existing home decor easily, and tie the room together by adding some matching boucle cushions for a simple but effective refresh.
5. Boucle Storage Ottoman
A simple way to add a touch of boucle to your bedroom is an ottoman at the bottom of your bed. You will also get extra storage which is always a win.
A boucle ottoman would also look great in your entranceway if you have space and can be easily moved around if you decide you would like a change. It would be the perfect low seating for taking shoes on and off, practical and on-trend!

Adding boucle dining chairs to your dining area would create a great visual statement. The boucle fabric would soften the hard surfaces of wood and glass and create a sense of warmth to the space.

I’ve got to be able to visualise myself sitting there for hours with nibbles and a glass of wine. So a boucle bar stool definitely hits all those requirements for me.

A great option to add a piece of boucle furniture to your home without having to rejig any of your living spaces is adding a boucle bench seat to your hallway/entranceway.

I really like this low stool and definitely eyeing it up for my dressing table area in my spare room. Hmmmmm….this is the worst thing about looking at lovely home decor all day!

I’ll be honest and say I wouldn’t have thought of a floor cushion made in boucle fabric but I really like it.
As well as looking very inviting, it’s great for extra casual seating. Just watch out for any pets thinking they’ve been given a royal upgrade!

A boucle window blind would be a lovely addition to your home. As well as the obvious rooms like the living room and bedroom, I think this style of blind would also work perfectly in a nursery when paired with the right accessories.

I have made lampshades professionally for a local interiors company and personal clients in the past and it is an absolute passion of mine, so I’d have to go big for this idea.
